TASCO teen sites have a dedicated full-time teen staff supervisor, free middle school camp, teen room, organized sports leagues, trips and activities specifically geared towards teens and promote positive youth leadership within our communities and throughout life.

If you are a middle school student looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day then we've got the event for YOU!

TASCO teen programs hosts the 11th annual Valentine’s Semi-formal at J.W. Cate Recreation Center, 5801 22nd Avenue North on Saturday, February 13, from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. Teens in grades six through nine, this is for you. The party starts with a live DJ spinning the hottest new songs with live entertainment on the main stage. Don’t miss the photo booth, video games, $100 best dressed contest for male and female and more all evening. $10 ticket includes dinner. This night is always a sellout. Dress code semi-formal. No shorts or jeans. The school with the most attendance wins a free field day provided by TASCO. Come represent your school and have some fun. Tickets are available at the TASCO office, 1320 5th Street North, your local St. Petersburg recreation centers and at the door, if available.Participant or Parent Information.

Level Up
Premier gaming spot

"Level Up" is the premier gaming spot for teens in middle and high school. Teens will be able to converse, share, and explore the gaming culture. Teens will learn, unite and play in an enjoyable atmosphere.

TASCO will provide a safe and welcoming environment where gamers of all backgrounds can participate in various gaming experiences such as, video games, board games, free use of the TASCO center for technology computer lab, chill lounge, and can participate in prize giveaways throughout the night.



Main Activities of Event

  • Free Play of various game systems including Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo series, PC, etc.
  • Outings to local arcades and gamer themed events
  • Retro game systems where teens will be introduced to older systems
  • Tournaments including prizes for winners
  • Chill lounge, a movie will be showing on inflatable screen on the baseball field throughout the night
  • Various supply of board games, including RPG style games

 


Showcase of Achievement
Mayor's
Youth Showcase

The 6th annual Mayor’s Youth Showcase of Achievement will award over $25,000 in cash and prizes to middle and high school students. 48 different students in middle and high school will be awarded in 8 different categories ranging from Academic Achievement to Overcoming Adversity to Performing Arts. The Deadline for completed nomination packet must be postmarked no later than April 29, 2016 at 5 p.m.

The Showcase of Achievement Award Ceremony will be held on May 26, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Mahaffey Theater in Downtown St. Petersburg. All nominees will receive two free tickets to attend the night of the show.

Beat the summer heat and come hang out with TASCO this summer. We offer 7 different events at various locations over the summer, 3 of which are open to the public.

The 3 events are:
TASCO CATALINA MARKETING GAME EXTRAVAGANZA AT THE COLISEUM
Middle and high school teens! Kick off your summer with TASCO Teen Programs. Our first summer extreme event is Catalina Marketing’s Game Extravaganza on Thursday, June 11 at the Historic Coliseum, 535 4th Avenue N., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with hundreds of teens in attendance. Inflatable games, video games, bungee jumping, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, air brush tattoos, live DJ performances and make your own music DVD. The cost is $5 per participant.

TASCO TEEN FEST AT SPA BEACH
Middle school and high school teens! Beat the heat with the inaugural Teen Fest on Thursday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Spa Beach Park, 615 2nd Ave. NE. Features include Battle of the Teen Bands, two 20 foot waterslides, bungee bounce, volleyball tournament, water joust, flag football tournament, vendors and much more. Bring your towel, sunscreen and swim suit. Concessions sold. Cost $5 per participant.

TASCO TEEN MUD WARS AT SPA BEACH
Middle school and high school teens! Get down and dirty with all your friends at TASCO Teen Mud Wars, Thursday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Spa Beach Park, 615 2nd Ave. NE, downtown on the Pier approach. Teens battle it out for a top spot in the dirtiest mud competition in the U.S. Bring a team consisting of 10 competing players and two alternates or join a team when you arrive. Teams compete for $500 and trophies. Activities include tug-of-war, obstacle course, eliminator, mud football to name a few. Bring change of clothes, towel and sunscreen. Concessions sold. The cost is $5 per participant.

S.W.A.T
Sandblast

TASCO and S.W.A.T. (Students Working Against Tobacco) team up every year to pull off one of the biggest beach bashes around.

Spring break fun isn't over yet! On April 9, 2016 TASCO Teen Programs and S.W.A.T. (Students Working Against Tobacco) hosts our 17th annual S.W.A.T. Sandblast. This event is held at Spa Beach 615 2nd ave NE, St. Petersburg. The event runs form 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to any teenager in grades 6-12. Teens can participate in our free play beach games, bungee bounce, water joust, foam arena, 80 foot Zip line, flag football, 2 twenty-five foot water slides, live performances, DJ, prizes and more. TASCO Field of Screams was, once again, voted #1 scare in Tampa Bay last year.

Teens and adults don't miss the10th annual TASCO Field of Screams Quarantine. Event days are: Thursday through Sunday, October 29 – 31 & November 1, 2015. Hours of operation are 7 p.m. to midnight at Boyd Hill Environmental Studies Area, 2900 31st Street South. You will be challenged to navigate through the dark woods, make it out of the village, break out of the decontamination tent, escape the safe house and flee to safety. Participants are exposed to darkness, loud noises, bright lights, wooded trails, and intense scare zones. Not suitable for children; parental discretion is advised. Tickets $10 in advance, $15 at the gate; subject to availability. For more details call (727) 892-5060.
