About the Center

Before you take a walk on the trails of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, visit “The Ripple Effect: Understanding Nature’s Connections” exhibit at the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center. This exhibit is will highlight the natural wonders of the Preserve and Lake Maggiore.

Did you know the center offers seasonal nature camps and programs and classes for all ages? The center is home to several great indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. Learn something new or pickup a hobby. No matter your interest, this peaceful oasis is sure to offer an enjoyable experience, including trails and boardwalks that wind through many unique ecosystems that are homes to over 60 species of amphibians and reptiles, over 50 species of butterflies and over 165 species of birds. Due to this strong diversity of birds, the preserve has been named to the Great Florida Birding Trail.
