TRAM TOURS

Daily at 1:00 pm. Saturdays at 10:00 am & 1:00 pm.
$5 for adults and $3.50 for children 3 through 16
Arrange your own Tram Tour for groups of 4 or more

Adult Programs

NATURAL HISTORY SPEAKER SERIES
Join us for a presentation that features a diverse range of speakers on Florida natural and cultural history.
Cost: Free!

BOYD HILL BURN
Every Thursday, 5-6 pm. Cardio-based boot camp with basic strength training exercises built for a beginning-intermediate level.
Cost: $8 per class

EARLY BIRD TRAIL RUN
Every Saturday, 7 – 8 am. Suited for individuals that run roads and/or trails with a prompt 7 am start on a 4 – 5 mile course.
Cost: Admission or trail pass

Children and Family Programs

PUDDLE JUMPERS
Join us for an outdoor exploration!
Cost: $5 (Ages 3 to 4)

ASTRONOMY NIGHTS
Observe the night sky through the high-powered telescopes of the St. Pete Astronomy Club and arrive early for constellation orientation talks. This program takes place during fall and winter.
Cost: $3/$1.50

NATURE’S ELEMENTS
Fun-filled learning, creative hands-on projects, park exploration and take-home crafts for 4 – 7 year-olds.
Cost: $10 (Ages 4 to 7)

PINELLAS PIONEER HOME SCHOOL PROGRAM
Experience early Florida during a day of hands on learning, crafts and exploration. Part of a five program series.
Cost: $15/child/ program

PIONEER NIGHTS
An evening of old time fun ending with a campfire and S’mores!
Cost: $20 (Ages 6 to 13)

UNLOVED ANIMALS SERIES
Learn about our most misunderstood critters like vultures, bats, and snakes as we dispel myths and share some of the amazing and endearing qualities of these animals through talks, activities, crafts and live animal encounters.
Cost: $3/$1.50

Guided Tours

ALLIGATOR WALK
The second Sunday of every month, learn the facts about Alligator mississippiensis as you search for this ancient critter in the preserve’s wetlands.
Cost: $3/$1.50

BIRD WALK
The first Saturday of every month, come search for our winged winter residents. Binoculars are available for loan.
Cost: Free.

EDIBLE WILDS WALK
Explore the food, medicine, and tools all around us. Learn to identify what's growing and its most common uses.
Cost: $3/$1.50 all ages.

GOPHER TORTOISE HIKE
Explore the endangered realm of the gopher tortoise with Herpetologist George Heinrich on this semiannual interpretive hike through the preserve’s uplands. Learn about the conservation of this threatened keystone species.
Cost: $3/$1.50

NIGHT HIKE
Bring the family down to star gaze, search for owls, bats and alligators.
Cost: $5/$3

PADDLE THE LAKE
A guided tour of Lake Maggiore by kayak or canoe to explore the preserve from a new perspective. Monthly Twilight Paddle and Clam Bayou Paddles also available.
Cost: $18 (Ages 8+ with minors accompanied by an adult)

WILDFLOWER WALK
The fourth Saturday of every month, get to know our many wildflowers & explore their beauty on this guided stroll through the preserve.
Cost: $3/$1.50

EVENTS

Raptor Fest
First Saturday in February

Celebrate birds of prey at the third annual Raptor Fest at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. Trained raptors in free flight, live birds of prey in exhibits and presentations, Native American story telling, raptorial dinosaur talk, photo opportunities with live birds, environmental exhibitors, activities for children. Pioneer Christmas Jamboree
Every December at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Cost: Free

Celebrate the holidays pioneer style! Get an earful of toe-tappin', can't-sit-still music of fiddle, guitar, harmonica, and more from local musicians. There will be crafters, food vendors and the country kitchen will be cookin' up fresh vittles the old fashioned way! Don't miss the tractor pulled hayrides exploring the backwoods! The Settlement boasts two of the oldest wooden buildings in St. Petersburg. Come shop in Woody's General Store! Try your hand at log sawing, corn grinding, and some old fashioned games.


Autumn Harvest
Third Saturday in October
October 14, 2017

Let's celebrate this special time of year when the harvest was traditionally gathered and thanks given. Come and enjoy live animals, crafts, live music, pumpkin patch, hayrides, craft show and a farmers market!

Semiannual event in the Spring and Fall at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement. Find new treasures while experiencing the living history that is the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement.
