Nature-Based Day Camps

Fun and exciting adventures await your child. Campers will discover nature and wildlife while being educated about caring for our environment. Camps take place when Pinellas County schools are on “holiday” break. See information below for ways to create amazing childhood memories. Sprouts Camp

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center
Ages: 3 to 4 (Children must be potty trained)
Date: December 26 - 29, 2017 and January 2 - 5, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: $52/week

Each day our program includes a combination of nature stories, songs, games, crafts and hikes to explore the outdoors. Our goal is to nurture a child’s curiosity, help them acquire developmentally appropriate skills and instill an appreciation and respect for our natural world. Limit of 15 campers

Young Naturalist Camp

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Environmental Studies Area - Oak Hall
Ages: 5 - 6
Date: January 2 - 5, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended Care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $105 • Extended Care: $20

Young Naturalist Camp focuses on nature and science topics. Exciting activities include nature hikes, games and studies of plants and animals. Campers explore the natural world, learn to share discoveries, work together, develop their personal creativity and have fun. Limit of 20 campers.

Pioneer Camp

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Environmental Studies Area - Pioneer House
Ages: 7 to 13
Date: December 26 - 29, 2017 and January 2 - 5, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended Care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $105/week • Extended Care: $20/week

Campers experience a time when family, friendship and character were as important as food, water and shelter. Activities are adapted from the Association of Experiential Education to foster team building, leadership and self-esteem. Limit of 30 campers.

Herpetology Camp

Ages: 7 to 11
Date: January 2 - 5, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $120 • Extended Care: $20

Campers explore the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles. Through up-close encounters with a variety of animals, such as gopher tortoises, frogs, lizards and snakes, campers learn about ecology and conservation of amphibians and reptiles. Limit of 30 campers.
